PERSONAL WORK
These are a few images from a piece I made where I took a fable and created a parallel to a modern societal issue. In this case, I used "The Fisherman & His Wife" and compared it to the way credit card debt can erode and eventually devastate your life.
It is hand-made, printed on watercolor paper, with a traditional stitched binding. The left side is the original tale and the right side is the modern day story. All the typography is on vellum in the middle of each spread.
Each spread also has a hidden panel which pulls out from the right side. Throughout the piece, that "hidden" panel is revealed through the increased distressing of the page.
